Tuesdays in the Bag....

This great promotion continues throughout the summer so bring your "It's Happening" shopping bag to Downtown Farmington and enjoy specials and treats. Shopping bags are available at the Farmington Downtown Development Authority for $1.00 and a list of participating merchants can be found at www.farmingtonstreetscape.org on the "Upcoming Events" page.

The DDA is proud to sponsor "Green" activities every Tuesday at the Pavilion. Tomorrow, July 28, Oakland County Parks and Recreation will be here with a 25 feet tall Rock Tower! Come on down to the Sundquist Pavilion and climb a rock right here in Downtown Farmington. The Pavilion will be "rockin" from 3pm-5pm. Make sure you wear "tennis" shoes and socks for this event. Participants must be at least 4 feet tall.

It's Happening!



Restaurant Week is quickly approaching!
Enjoy the wonderful foods Downtown Farmington has to offer during Restaurant Week, August 2 -8, 2009. This is a perfect time to stroll the newly completed north side of the Grand River Streetscape Project while sampling all the fine fare in Farmington. Participating restaurants will have specials throughout the week. It's Happening!

Sunflour Bakehaus: Samples of the delicious baked goods throughout the week. On Saturday, August 8, Ms. Maria will have story time for kids from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Pages : 10 meals will be $10 all week and on Wednesday and Saturday, ribs are all you can eat for $12.95.

Cedar: Buy three sandwiches get the fourth FREE! Dine in or carry out.

Tina's Coney Island: Buy one coney dog get one free. Dine in or carry out.

Edible Arrangements : With the purchase of a $50 arrangement, receive a free box of strawberries!

Hershey's Ice Cream: Buy one scoop of Rocky Road ice cream and get one scoop FREE!

Big Apple Bagels :
Monday - Muffins for $1.09
Tuesday - Buy 6 bagels get 6 free ($4.79 for a dozen)
Wednesday- Free coffee with purchase of bagel with cream cheese

Friday - Sandwich, fountain pop, and chips for $4.00 + tax

Cowleys : Will have a specials throughout the week along with live music and a wine tasting. Friday, August 7, the band "Free Beer" will play classic rock.

Tuesdays in the Bag

Every Tuesday something extra special "Happens" in Downtown Farmington. This Tuesday, July 21, you can get in gear! Join us for a bike tour of Downtown Farmington and the beautiful surrounding neighborhoods. The two hour tour begins at the Sundquist Pavilion at 11:30 am. and is open to all ages. Bring your helmet, two wheeler, and water. Space is limited so please call the Farmington DDA at 248-473-7276 for more information and to reserve your space.

It's Happening!



The "Ten Buck Truck" returns to Downtown Farmington Tuesday, July 8 at 11:30 am. This week's theme is "Space and Aliens". What fun! Children 12 and under will love to make a craft project out of recycled industrial products. Participants can even go 'shopping' in the Ten Buck Truck at the end of the class. This great event is part of "Tuesdays in the Bag", a summer long promotion that is encouraging Farmington to GO GREEN. Remember to use your "It's Happening" shopping bag tomorrow and receive special discounts and treats from participating merchants. Come stroll Grand River Avenue and Farmington Road and take a look at the tremendous progress the Streetscape Project is making.
